Summer Holiday break
The club will not be swimming on Sundays 20th and 27th July and the 3rd, 10th, 17th and 24th August, swimming sessions will resume on 31st August. Have a great summer break all.
Easter Holidays and May Bank Holidays
The club will not be swimming on Sundays 13th April and 20th April (Easter Sunday), it will return to swimming on 27th April and will swim the following Sunday 4th May prior to the May Day bank holiday. It will also take a break from swimming on Sunday 25th May at the start of Summer half-term break returning 2nd June.
Mini Gala - Sunday 15th December 2025
The club hosted a Christmas themed mini gala on Sunday 15th December. There were four teams racing in the main pool with one team in the teaching pool. Various relay races were contested with swimmers having to carry Santa hats, Santa sacks with parcels, snowballs, etc across the water. The races were closely contested with no team dominating. The winner was determined on the final race - which team could transport their Santa or Reindeer across the water keeping it as dry as possible! Following the weigh-in, the triumphant team were those that swam in the teaching pool, cunningly carrying Santa in a makeshift boat. All swimmers received a Christmas gift at the end of the gala.
New volunteer helpers ensure club survival
Following an appeal to all parents of existing members for new volunteer helpers a number came forward offering to help poolside, this ensuring the club's survival. After the prolonged closures due to COVID and then Leisure Centre refurbishment some of the existing helpers could no longer commit to helping poolside.
The new helpers attended a number of induction sessions before Christmas in preparation for a complete re-opening on 8th January.
